Mick McDonald stands with his fists at his hips, surveying the flooded yard of his neighbours’ in the Brisbane suburb of Milton. The day before he helped three young men haul their furniture up onto the roof of their shared Queenslander home. Today, as flood waters peak, the little house is submerged to the window sills.

Dumpster Diving

When I experienced Dumpster Diving first-hand, my assumptions that the activity was financially motivated quickly dissipated and were replaced by thoughts of political protest/outrage.

Here is a selection of great stand-alone images from emerging photojournalists at QCA, Griffith University.

“The only breasts that we’re comfortable with seeing are breasts that are young and sexualised.” When Facebook censored images of a breast-feeding infant and a topless grandmother, but failed to censor equally explicit images of a wet t-shirt contest, Sexpo girls and other traditionally sexy images of women from Gemma-Rose Turnbull’s Facebook picture section, it [...]

This area is under threat of invasion by a weed called Bitou Bush.  Bush regeneration is helping to preserve Broken Head Nature reserve, by providing [...]
