Scars are areas of fibrous tissue that replace normal skin after injury or disease. They are a natural part of the body’s evolved reaction to damage.

During the journey of this series, I have examined the physical imperfections on the human body through a diverse range of people and the unique stories behind their scars.

There’s a certain beauty to imperfection. It reveals character. Almost everyone has a scar and every scar tells a story, or alludes to one anyway.
